Job summary
Recruited UK is seeking an experienced Hire Controller / Hire Desk Controller to join a leading construction and equipment hire company.
You will coordinate plant, powered access, tool hire, lifting equipment and material handling to ensure equipment is available and delivered on time. You will act as the link between customers, engineering and transport, handling enquiries and maintaining high service standards.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in Plant Hire, Powered Access, Tool Hire, Lifting Equipment or Material Handling.
- Experience working in a hire desk or similar customer-facing environment.
- Excellent customer service, communication and IT skills.
Responsibilities
- Handle customer hire enquiries via phone, email, and online systems.
- Monitor and update equipment availability in internal systems.
- Coordinate with engineering to ensure equipment is prepared and ready.
- Work with transport to arrange timely delivery and collection.
- Be a friendly and professional point of contact for customers and colleagues.
- Ensure high level of service throughout the hire process.
- Support depot in achieving operational and customer service targets.
- Follow company procedures, compliance and health & safety requirements.
