Job summary

Teaching Personnel Ltd. is seeking a Reception Teaching Assistant to join a South Bristol primary school and support the Reception team with EYFS delivery, play-based activities, and helping children settle into school life.

You will work with individuals and small groups to develop early literacy, numeracy and communication skills, assist with routines and transitions, and contribute to observations and assessments in line with EYFS. A warm, patient approach and an enhanced DBS are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience working with young children in a school, nursery or similar setting.
• SEN experience desirable.
• Warm, patient and encouraging approach.
• Genuine passion for early years education and child development.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Reliability, professionalism and safeguarding commitment.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
• Available to start on 2nd November.

Responsibilities

• Supporting the Reception class teacher in delivering the EYFS curriculum
• Helping children access learning through play-based and structured activities
• Working with individuals and small groups as needed
• Supporting the development of early literacy, numeracy and communication skills
• Assisting with daily routines, transitions and independence skills
• Supporting children’s social, emotional and personal development
• Contributing to observations and assessments in line with the EYFS framework
