Job summary

Lift Four Dwellings Secondary, part of Lift Schools, seeks a dedicated Cover Supervisor to supervise lessons during short-term teacher absences and maintain a calm, productive learning environment.

You will deliver prepared materials, support student learning, manage behaviour, and contribute to the academy’s “super cover” provision alongside a second staff member. Fixed-term contract until 31 August 2027.

Qualifications

• GCSE Maths and English at grade 4/C or above.
• Experience working with children and young people.
• Strong behaviour management and communication skills.
• Calm, resilient and adaptable in a fast-paced school environment.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people.

Responsibilities

• Supervise classes during teacher absences across a range of subjects.
• Deliver pre-prepared lesson materials and support student learning.
• Lead the 'super cover' provision with another member of staff.
• Maintain a positive, orderly classroom environment and manage behaviour.
• Provide feedback to teachers on student progress, engagement and conduct.
• Record attendance and raise concerns to pastoral teams as needed.
• Support SEND and EHCP/IEP targets where appropriate.
• Contribute to wider academy activities and student supervision.
