Job summary

Aspire People is seeking a confident and adaptable Cover Supervisor to support a range of South East London secondary schools. You will supervise classes during the short-term absence of the regular teacher and ensure students stay on task with the work set.

This flexible role offers work across local schools, a pathway to teacher training, support from Aspire People's experienced education consultants, and the chance to build a solid classroom presence while managing behaviour and reporting

Qualifications

• Experience working with young people in a school, coaching, or youth work setting.
• Strong classroom presence and the ability to manage behaviour effectively.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Flexible, reliable, and positive approach.

Responsibilities

• Supervise classes during the short-term absence of the regular teacher.
• Ensure students remain on task with the work set and follow the school's behaviour policies.
• Provide support where needed, helping to clarify instructions and keep students engaged.
• Manage classroom behaviour in line with school expectations.
• Report back to teaching staff on student progress and any issues during cover lessons.
