Job summary

Aspire People is seeking a confident Cover Supervisor to support a range of secondary schools across North West London. You will supervise classes when the regular teacher is absent and help keep students engaged with the set work.

Ideal candidates will have experience with young people, strong behaviour management and excellent communication. Flexible roles across local schools, with long-term and permanent opportunities and full support from Aspire People’s education consultants.

Qualifications

• Experience working with young people in a school, coaching, or youth work setting.
• Strong classroom presence and the ability to manage behaviour effectively.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• A flexible, reliable and positive approach.
• Educated to A-Level or degree level (desirable).
• Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).

Responsibilities

• Supervise classes during the short-term absence of the regular teacher.
• Ensure students remain on task with the work set and follow the school's behaviour policies.
• Provide support where needed, helping to clarify instructions and keep students engaged.
• Manage classroom behaviour in line with school expectations.
• Report back to teaching staff on student progress and any issues during cover lessons.
