Job summary

Aspire People is currently recruiting a confident and adaptable Cover Supervisor to work in a range of secondary schools across North West London. This role offers flexible work across local schools and valuable classroom experience for aspiring teachers.

You will supervise classes in the absence of the regular teacher, maintain classroom order, and support students to stay on task. DBS checks are required or you must be willing to obtain one.

Qualifications

• Experience working with young people in a school, coaching, or youth work setting.
• Strong classroom presence and the ability to manage behaviour effectively.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Flexible, reliable and positive approach.
• Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).

Responsibilities

• Supervise classes during the short-term absence of the regular teacher.
• Ensure students remain on task with the work set and follow the school's behaviour policies.
• Provide support where needed, helping to clarify instructions and keep students engaged.
• Manage classroom behaviour in line with school expectations.
• Report back to teaching staff on student progress and any issues during cover lessons.
