Job summary

Aspire People is seeking a confident Cover Supervisor to work across a range of secondary schools in South East London. This role is ideal for those aiming to gain classroom experience or pursue teacher training.

You will supervise classes during short-term absences, keep students engaged, and support teachers with consistent behaviour management. Flexible, reliable candidates will thrive in this role.

Qualifications

• Experience working with young people in a school, coaching, or youth work setting.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Flexible, reliable and positive approach.
• Educated to A-Level or degree level (desirable).
• Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).

Responsibilities

• Supervise classes during the short-term absence of the regular teacher.
• Ensure students remain on task with the work set and follow the school's behaviour policies.
• Provide support, clarify instructions and keep students engaged.
• Manage classroom behaviour in line with school expectations.
• Report back to teaching staff on student progress and any issues during cover lessons.
