Job summary

Cardiff Metropolitan University is seeking an Admissions Officer to support the busy centralised Admissions Unit. The role involves processing student applications, advising applicants, and delivering open days and recruitment events. You will ensure decisions align with selection criteria and maintain accurate records.

The fixed-term post runs until October 2027, with 18.5 hours per week overall (half day on Wednesday, full days Thursday and Friday).

Qualifications

• Experience in a busy admissions environment.
• Understanding of Higher Education admissions and recruitment processes.
• Commitment to excellent customer service and accurate data handling.

Responsibilities

• Making and processing decisions in accordance with selection criteria.
• Liaising with tutors and staff to ensure applications progress to SLAs.
• Assess supporting documentation and carry out initial fee assessment.
• Maintain admissions records with high accuracy for external bodies.
• Provide information and advice to applicants about opportunities at the University.
• Assist with the delivery of marketing and recruitment events (open days, applicant days, clearing).
