Cardiff Council in Wales is seeking an admin/clerical colleague to support pupil admissions for the 3-16 age range across Cardiff schools. You will handle inquiries, process applications and work with internal and external customers in English and Welsh.
The role requires strong IT skills, effective communication, and a flexible team player who thrives in a busy environment. This temporary post supports the Education & Lifelong Learning directorate.
The Education and Lifelong Learning Directorate provides the strategic, professional and operational support to enable the Council to fulfil its responsibilities for early years education, statutory age education, education in school sixth forms and a youth service.
There are 127 schools in Cardiff consisting of 3 nursery schools, 98 Primary Schools, 18 Secondary Schools, 7 Special Schools & 1 Pupil Referral Unit.
Each of these supports the overall purpose of improving the achievement of learners.
To assist in the arrangements for the Admission of pupils across the 3-16 age range to and within, Cardiff community schools in accordance with the Local Authorities published admissions criteria and the Welsh Government Code of Practice on School Admissions.
You will have experience of providing excellent customer service, work well in a team and have a flexible approach.
You will be an effective communicator with internal and external customers in writing, by telephone and monitoring of email inboxes and processing school applications.
You will have excellent IT skills with a sound working knowledge of Microsoft Office. You will be an adaptable team worker with experience of working in a busy environment and dealing with the members of the public.
