Job summary

Market Halls Group is seeking a Duty Manager for Shelter Hall in Brighton. You will lead shifts, energise the floor and ensure guest experiences match our festival atmosphere. You’ll coach the team, manage service flow and collaborate with independent traders to keep things moving.

The role focuses on hospitality leadership, guest satisfaction and maintaining high standards across bars and floors. A passion for food, drinks and a lively venue is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in supervisory or management roles.
• Passion for brilliant hospitality and guest experiences.
• Ability to lead a team, coach others and make confident decisions.

Responsibilities

• Own the shift as Manager on Duty, keeping bars, floor and guest experience running smoothly.
• Create a fun, welcoming atmosphere where guests feel part of something special.
• Lead from the front, motivate and coach your team to deliver brilliant hospitality.
• Manage service flow during busy periods and adapt to the unexpected with confidence.
• Handle questions, feedback and complaints, turning challenges into positive outcomes.
• Build strong working relationships with independent traders, bar teams and venue management.
• Conduct operational checks, maintain standards and ensure the venue looks its best.
• Ensure Food Safety, Health & Safety and licensing standards are followed.
• Think commercially: support labour management and help deliver great results.
