Job summary

University of Sussex Students’ Union is seeking a Duty Manager for the Bars Team at Falmer House, BN1 9QF. The role offers a DM rate of £16.19 per hour (base £14.45 + £1.74 holiday) and 12-15 hours per week during term time, with shifts including days, evenings, nights and weekends.

You will develop skills in cash handling, team leadership and shift management while gaining input into how operations run across the Bars and Union.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience and reliable, motivated team member.
• Ability to handle cash and supervise staff.
• Willingness to take on responsibility and be a keyholder.

Responsibilities

• Oversee shifts to ensure smooth operation.
• Lead and develop the Bars team.
• Support customer service excellence and staff readiness.
• Attend Duty Manager meetings and contribute to operations.
