Job summary

Whitbread is recruiting for a Duty Manager at Torquay Premier Inn. The role is permanent, with a guaranteed 37.5 hours per week and pay up to £13.86 per hour. You’ll lead shifts, support teams and ensure the hotel runs smoothly, with duties across reception, housekeeping and food service.

Previous hotel management experience isn’t required; leadership from any customer-facing role is welcome, with on-the-floor support and progression opportunities toward a Hotel Manager position.

Qualifications

• Experience leading teams in busy customer-facing environments.
• Ability to brief and coach staff before shifts.
• Comfort with helping guests and resolving issues quickly.

Responsibilities

• Lead shifts across the hotel and deliver clear pre-shift briefings.
• Support and coach team members throughout the day.
• Help guests with questions and sort out problems.
• Jump in to support different teams, from reception to the restaurant.
• Spot issues early and put them right.
• Help keep guests safe and the hotel running smoothly.
