Job summary

Whitbread’s Thirsk Premier Inn is recruiting a Duty Manager on a permanent contract. It is a 16-hour per week role with pay up to £13.86 per hour, based at Sowerby Gateway, Thirsk.

You’ll lead shifts across reception, housekeeping and the restaurant, help guests, coach teammates and keep the hotel running smoothly. No hotel experience is required, but you should be confident making decisions, staying calm under pressure and taking ownership.

Qualifications

• You’ll need to lead shifts across the hotel and deliver pre-shift briefings.
• You should be confident making decisions, enjoy helping people and stay calm when things get busy.
• If you’ve led people before, we can teach you the hotel. Any role with leading people in busy customer-facing environments suits us.

Responsibilities

• Lead shifts across the hotel and deliver clear pre-shift briefings.
• Support and coach team members throughout the day.
• Help guests with questions and sort out problems.
• Jump in to support different teams, from reception to the restaurant.
• Spot issues early and put them right.
• Help keep guests safe and the hotel running the way it should.
• Work closely with the Hotel Manager and wider leadership team.
