Job summary

Orion Smart Metering is seeking an experienced Dual Fuel Engineer to join our nationwide field team. You will install smart meters safely in domestic properties and deliver a professional, customer-focused service.

All work must meet industry safety standards and you will represent Orion across the country as part of a collaborative engineering team.

Qualifications

• Smart Metering qualification or diploma is required.
• UK driving licence is required.
• MOCOPA certification (or during induction) is preferred.
• DBS check recent within 3 months preferred.
• EUSR card is advantageous, not essential.

Responsibilities

At Orion Smart Metering, we're proud to work with some of the UK's biggest energy and metering companies. As we continue to grow our national contracts, we're looking for experienced Dual Fuel Engineers to join our expanding team.

Pay & Package Options

Choose the option that suits your circumstances:

• Salary Package £45,000 per annum. 33 days holiday (including bank holidays). Company van, fuel card, tools & uniform provided.
• Guaranteed Day Rate Option 1 £200 per day. Paid via Umbrella PAYE. Company van, fuel card, tools & uniform provided.
• Guaranteed Day Rate Option 2 £275 per day. Paid via Umbrella PAYE. Engineer provides own van & fuel. Tools & uniform provided.

Bonus Breakdown

Boost your earnings with monthly incentives:

• KPI Bonus: £150 per month. Achieved by hitting 75% job completion in a calendar month.
• Attendance Bonus: £150 per month. Awarded for full attendance with no sick days. Pro-rated for holidays.

Working Hours

Monday to Friday, 8am-5pm (1-hour lunch). Minimum 4 jobs per day / 20 per week. Optional weekend work available once weekly targets are met.

Call Out and Per Job Rates

• 1 week in 4 rota
• Standby payments Monday-Sunday
• Per job rates:
  • £150 per dual install
  • £80 per single
  • £50 per transactional job
• Saturday work available (paid at day rate)

Requirements

• Smart Meter Engineering qualification or diploma
• CMA1 or CCN1 & MET1
• MOCOPA certification (or completed during induction)
• Full UK driving licence
• Clean DBS check (recent within 3 months preferred)
• EUSR card (advantageous, not essential)

Driving licence, passport, gas certificates, MOCOPA, qualifications, NI number, references, and DBS.
