Job summary

Orion Smart Metering in Leeds is seeking a Dual Fuel Smart Meter Engineer to join our nationwide engineering team. You will install smart meters in domestic properties, deliver a professional, customer-focused service and ensure compliance with industry safety standards.

The role offers stable employment with strong earning potential through base salary plus monthly incentives, and optional weekend work. Requirements include CMA1/CCN1/MET1, MOCOPA, a full UK driving licence, and a clean DBS

Qualifications

• Smart Meter Engineering qualification or diploma.
• CMA1 or CCN1 & MET1 certification.
• MOCOPA certification (or during induction).
• Full UK driving licence.
• Clean DBS check (recent preferred).
• EUSR card advantageous but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Install smart meters safely and efficiently in domestic properties.
• Deliver a professional, customer-focused service.
• Ensure all work meets industry safety and compliance standards.
• Represent Orion as part of a nationwide engineering team.

Pay & Package Options

Choose the option that suits your circumstances:

• Salary Package: £45,000 per annum. 33 days holiday (including bank holidays). Company van, fuel card, tools & uniform provided
• Guaranteed Day Rate Option 1: £200 per day. Paid via Umbrella PAYE. Company van, fuel card, tools & uniform provided
• Guaranteed Day Rate Option 2: £275 per day. Paid via Umbrella PAYE. Engineer provides own van & fuel. Tools & uniform provided

Bonus Breakdown

Boost your earnings with monthly incentives:

• KPI Bonus: £150 per month. Achieved by hitting 75% job completion in a calendar month
• Attendance Bonus: £150 per month. Awarded for full attendance with no sick days. Pro-rated for holidays

Working Hours

Monday to Friday, 8am–5pm (1-hour lunch). Minimum 4 jobs per day / 20 per week. Optional weekend work available once weekly targets are met.

Call Out

1 week in 4 rota. Standby payments Monday–Sunday.

Per Job Rates

• £150 per dual install
• £80 per single
• £50 per transactional job

Saturday Work

Available (paid at day rate)
