Job summary

Orion Smart Metering is seeking experienced Dual Fuel Smart Meter Engineers to support our growing national contracts across the UK. You’ll install smart meters safely in domestic properties and deliver a professional, customer-focused service.

We offer a £45,000 annual salary with 33 days holiday, a company van, fuel card, tools and uniform. There are additional day-rate options (£200 or £275) and monthly KPI/attendance bonuses, plus paid standby call-out.

Qualifications

• Smart Meter Engineering qualification or diploma required.
• CMA1 or CCN1 & MET1 certifications required.
• MOCOPA certification (or induction) required.
• Full UK driving licence and clean DBS check.

Responsibilities

• Install smart meters safely and efficiently in domestic properties.
• Deliver a professional, customer-focused service.
• Ensure all work meets industry safety and compliance standards.
• Represent Orion as part of a nationwide engineering team.

As we continue to grow our national contracts, we’re looking for experienced Dual Fuel Smart Meter Engineers to join our expanding team.

Pay & Package Options

• Salary Package
  • £45,000 per annum.
  • 33 days holiday (including bank holidays)
  • Company van, fuel card, tools & uniform provided
• Guaranteed Day Rate - Option 1
  • £200 per day
  • Paid via Umbrella PAYE
  • Company van, fuel card, tools & uniform provided

  • £275 per day
  • Paid via Umbrella PAYE
  • Engineer provides own van & fuel
  • Tools & uniform provided

Bonus Breakdown

• Boost your earnings with monthly incentives:
• KPI Bonus - £150 per month
  • Achieved by hitting 75% job completion in a calendar month
• Attendance Bonus - £150 per month
  • Awarded for full attendance with no sick days
  • Pro-rated for holidays

Working Hours

• Monday to Friday, 8am-5pm (1-hour lunch)
• Minimum 4 jobs per day / 20 per week
• Optional weekend work available once weekly targets are met

Call Out

• 1 week in 4 rota
• Standby payments Monday-Sunday
• Per job rates:
  • £150 per dual install
  • £80 per single
  • £50 per transactional job
• Saturday work available (paid at day rate)

Requirements

• Smart Meter Engineering qualification or diploma
• CMA1 or CCN1 & MET1
• MOCOPA certification (or completed during induction)
• Full UK driving licence
• Clean DBS check (recent within 3 months preferred)
• EUSR card (advantageous, not essential)

Documents required:

• Driving licence, passport, gas certificates, MOCOPA, qualifications, NI number, references, and DBS.
