Job summary

Orion Smart Metering is hiring experienced Dual Fuel Smart Meter Engineers to join a nationwide engineering team.

Role involves installing smart meters in domestic properties, delivering professional service, and ensuring safety standards are met. Requires a meter engineering qualification, CMA1/CCN1/MET1, and a full UK driving licence. DBS checks preferred and EUSR advantageous.

Qualifications

• Smart Meter Engineering qualification or diploma.
• CMA1, CCN1 and MET1 certifications completed or in induction.
• MOCOPA certification (or completed during induction).
• Full UK driving licence and DBS check (recent preferred).
• EUSR card advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Install smart meters safely and efficiently in domestic properties.
• Deliver a professional, customer-focused service.
• Ensure all work meets industry safety and compliance standards.
• Represent Orion as part of a nationwide engineering team.

Job description

At Orion Smart Metering, were proud to work with some of the UKs biggest energy and metering companies.

As we continue to grow our national contracts, were looking for experienced Dual Fuel Smart Meter Engineers to join our expanding team.

The Dual Fuel Smart Meter Engineers need to live in any of the following postcodes: S35 or S70-75.

Pay & Package Options

Salary Package

• £43000 rising to £45,000 per annum after completion of 3 month probation.
• 33 days holiday (including bank holidays)
• Company van, fuel card, tools & uniform provided

Guaranteed Day Rate Option 1

• £200 per day
• Paid via Umbrella PAYE
• Company van, fuel card, tools & uniform provided

Guaranteed Day Rate Option 2

• £275 per day
• Paid via Umbrella PAYE
• Engineer provides own van & fuel
• Tools & uniform provided

Bonus Breakdown

KPI Bonus £150 per month

• Achieved by hitting 75% job completion in a calendar month

Attendance Bonus £150 per month

• Awarded for full attendance with no sick days
• Pro-rated for holidays

Working Hours

• Monday to Friday, 8am5pm (1-hour lunch)
• Minimum 4 jobs per day / 20 per week
• Optional weekend work available once weekly targets are met

Call Out

• 1 week in 4 rota
• Standby payments MondaySunday
• • £150 per dual install
  • £80 per single
  • £50 per transactional job

Saturday work available (paid at day rate)

Requirements

• Smart Meter Engineering qualification or diploma
• CMA1 or CCN1 & MET1
• MOCOPA certification (or completed during induction)
• Full UK driving licence
• Clean DBS check (recent within 3 months preferred)
• EUSR card (advantageous, not essential)

Documents required:

Driving licence, passport, gas certificates, MOCOPA, qualifications, NI number, references, and DBS.
