Job summary

Orion Smart Metering is seeking an experienced Dual Fuel Engineer to join our expanding nationwide engineering team in the UK. You will install smart meters in domestic properties, ensuring safety, efficiency and a high standard of customer service.

The role offers strong earning potential with KPI and attendance bonuses, a 33-day holiday package, and options for day-rate work alongside a salaried package. A full UK driving licence and relevant gas/electric qualifications are required.

Qualifications

• Smart Metering qualification or diploma required.
• CMA1 or CCN1 & MET1 qualifications.
• MOCOPA certification (or completed during induction).
• Full UK driving licence.
• Clear DBS check (recent within 3 months preferred).
• EUSR card advantageous, not essential.

Overview

At Orion Smart Metering, we’re proud to work with some of the UK’s biggest energy and metering companies. As we continue to grow our national contracts, we’re looking for experienced Dual Fuel Engineers to join our expanding team.

Pay & Package Options

Choose the option that suits your circumstances:

Salary Package

• £45,000 per annum
• 33 days holiday (including bank holidays)
• Company van, fuel card, tools & uniform provided

Guaranteed Day Rate – Option 1

• £200 per day
• Paid via Umbrella PAYE
• Company van, fuel card, tools & uniform provided

Guaranteed Day Rate – Option 2

• £275 per day
• Paid via Umbrella PAYE
• Engineer provides own van & fuel
• Tools & uniform provided

Bonus Breakdown

Boost your earnings with monthly incentives:

KPI Bonus – £150 per month

• Achieved by hitting 75% job completion in a calendar month

Attendance Bonus – £150 per month

• Awarded for full attendance with no sick days
• Pro-rated for holidays

Working Hours

• Monday to Friday, 8am–5pm (1-hour lunch)
• Minimum 4 jobs per day / 20 per week
• Optional weekend work available once weekly targets are met

Call Out

• 1 week in 4 rota
• Standby payments Monday–Sunday
• Per job rates:
  • £150 per dual install
  • £80 per single
  • £50 per transactional job

Saturday work available (paid at day rate)

Documents required: Driving licence, passport, gas certificates, MOCOPA, qualifications, NI number, references, and DBS.
