We are working with a well‑resourced secondary school in Tower Hamlets seeking a DT Technician (Food Technology & Textiles) to assist both teachers and students. You’ll play a vital role in helping lessons run smoothly, safely, and efficiently.

What you’ll be doing:

Food Technology Support

• Preparing ingredients and setting up cooking stations
• Managing food stock, checking expiry dates, and ensuring safe storage
• Maintaining hygiene standards across kitchens and equipment
• Supporting food safety compliance

Textiles Support

• Setting up and maintaining sewing machines and textile equipment
• Preparing fabrics, threads, and materials for lessons
• Assisting students with practical activities such as sewing and dyeing
• Organising and maintaining textile resources

General Responsibilities

• Supporting teachers and students during practical lessons
• Ensuring compliance with health & safety, risk assessments, and COSHH
• Managing resources, stock control, and storage areas
• Assisting with displays, admin tasks, and day‑to‑day department needs
• Creating a safe, positive, and well‑organised learning environment
