Job summary

Veolia in Shrewsbury is offering a role as a waste collection operative based in Shrewsbury, SY5 6HT. You will collect recycling, refuse and green waste from domestic properties, drive the vehicle, perform loading duties, and report any collection issues from an onboard tablet.

The role has a fixed 37-hour week, Monday to Friday, with a 6:45 am start time. Veolia emphasizes training, benefits, and a strong work-life balance within a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Valid Cat C (Class 2) licence required.
• Driver CPC & Tachograph Card required.
• Willingness and capability to perform mixed loading/driving duties.

Responsibilities

• Collect recycling, refuse and green waste from domestic properties in Shrewsbury and surrounding areas.
• Drive the vehicle and perform loading duties.
• Conduct vehicle defect checks.
• Comply with traffic laws and load security requirements.
• Accurately record work completed using onboard tablet and report issues.
• Ensure carriageway remains clean and spills are cleared.

What you'll be doing;

• Collecting recycling, refuse and green waste from domestic properties in Shrewsbury and the surrounding areas.


• Driving as well as loading duties


• Undertake vehicle defect checks


• Complying with all traffic laws and legislation including the security and weight of loads


• Accurately recording work completed using an onboard tablet device and reporting any collection issues that arise.


• Ensure the carriageway is left in a clean condition and any spillages are cleaned up before leaving the area


• Assisting other Collection crews

What we're looking for;
