Job summary

Veolia UK in Shrewsbury is recruiting for a driver to collect recycling, refuse and green waste across local properties. The role involves driving, loading duties, and vehicle checks, with on-board tablet reporting and attention to safe loads.

Guaranteed 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, starting around 6:45 am. A Cat C licence, CPC and Tachograph card are required, with a focus on safe, efficient operations and community service.

Qualifications

• Cat C (Class 2) Licence
• Driver CPC & Digi / Tachograph Card
• Willingness and capability to do a mixed loading/driving role

Responsibilities

• Collecting recycling, refuse and green waste from domestic properties in Shrewsbury and the surrounding areas.
• Driving as well as loading duties
• Undertake vehicle defect checks
• Complying with all traffic laws and legislation including the security and weight of loads
• Accurately recording work completed using an onboard tablet device and reporting any collection issues that arise.
• Ensure the carriageway is left in a clean condition and any spillages are cleaned up before leaving the area
• Assisting other Collection crews
