Job summary

Veolia Group in Shrewsbury is seeking a driver with Cat C (Class 2) licence and Driver CPC to join our collection teams. You will collect recycling, refuse and green waste from domestic properties, drive the vehicle, perform loading duties and ensure loads are secure.

Expect a 37-hour week, Monday to Friday, with a 6:45 am start and varying finish times. We offer a comprehensive benefits package and opportunities for training and development within a supportive team, with a focus on work/life

• Driver CPC & Digi/Tachograph Card must be held.

Responsibilities

• Collect recycling, refuse and green waste from domestic properties in Shrewsbury and surrounding areas.
• Drive the vehicle and perform loading duties.
• Undertake vehicle defect checks.
• Comply with traffic laws and load security requirements.
• Record work on onboard tablet and report issues.
• Keep carriageways clean and manage spillages.
• Assist other collection crews.

What you’ll be doing

• Collecting recycling, refuse and green waste from domestic properties in Shrewsbury and the surrounding areas.
• Driving as well as loading duties
• Undertake vehicle defect checks
• Complying with all traffic laws and legislation including the security and weight of loads
• Accurately recording work completed using an onboard tablet device and reporting any collection issues that arise.
• Ensure the carriageway is left in a clean condition and any spillages are cleaned up before leaving the area
• Assisting other Collection crews

• Willingness and capability to do a mixed loading/driving role
