Job summary

Veolia in Eastleigh is seeking a Waste Operations Operator to operate the Front Loading Shovel and a 360-degree Excavator, transporting waste safely on site after relevant training. You will perform routine maintenance on mobile plant, liaise with site staff and contractors, ensure correct waste types are accepted, and help train new operators while supporting efficient loading and unloading of vehicles.

Qualifications

• Previous experience within a similar operational environment.
• Mobile Plant licence/s - loading shovel or 360 excavator.
• Full UK driving licence and own transport due to the location of the site.

Responsibilities

• Operate the Front Loading Shovel and 360-degree Excavator to transport waste safely on completion of training.
• Routine maintenance of mobile plant and equipment, including oils and water checks and reporting defects.
• Liaise with site personnel, contractors, tipping authorities and haulage department.
• Ensure correct waste types are accepted and stored correctly and any non-conforming wastes are reported and dealt with accordingly.
• To ensure that outgoing weights of material are maximised.
• To assist with the training of new operator; unloading and loading of vehicles with waste.

Job description

Salary: £33,993.46 plus £266 per month for weekend shift allowance

Overtime is available - x1.5 for Saturdays - x2.0 for Sundays

Cycle to work

Hours - 43 hours, Saturday and Sunday 07:00 to 17:00 and Monday to Wednesday 0800 to 1600 (Thursdays and Fridays days off)
