Job summary

DHL Supply Chain in Bristol is seeking a Driver Development Assessor (DDA) / Driver Trainer to join our new state-of-the-art operation. You will lead inductions, assessments, refresher training and ongoing coaching to ensure high standards of safety, compliance and performance.

You will manage training records, use telematics data for driver development, and support continuous improvement in a fast-paced logistics environment across Waitrose and DHL operations.

Qualifications

• A valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) Driving Licence is required.
• Driver CPC Qualification and Digital Tachograph Card are required.
• Strong transport operational knowledge and hands-on driving experience.
• Prior experience in driver training, driver assessment, or transport compliance is preferred.
• Experience conducting on-road assessments and driver coaching is desirable.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Confidence to challenge and positively influence behaviours.
• Excellent organisational skills with training records and compliance documentation.
• Proactive approach and ability to work independently.
• Passion for continuous improvement and developing people.

Responsibilities

• Delivering inductions, assessments, refresher training, and ongoing coaching to maintain high safety and performance standards.
• Managing driver development using telematics data, training matrices, KPI monitoring.
• Profiling Waitrose branches and allocating drivers based on route risk and experience.
• Conducting on-road assessments, investigations and root-cause analysis to improve safety.
• Maintaining training and compliance records and collaborating with operations to drive improvement.
