Job summary

Ocean BMW Plymouth is seeking a Driver/Deputy Sales Progressor to support daily site operations and maintain vehicle security. The role includes welcoming customers, parking assistance, and ensuring smooth vehicle handovers.

Responsibilities extend to prepping vehicles for display and test drives, photographing stock, and coordinating with workshops, valeting, and service teams. A full UK driving licence with up to 6 points is required and the role operates Monday–Friday, 08:00–17:30.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience.
• Ability to use iPads and Windows software.
• Demonstrates enthusiasm and commitment to work.
• Able to attend on site during department hours.
• Must hold a full driving licence with max 6 points and no DR/CD/DD/TT99 endorsements.
• No insurance declined in last 5 years.
• Capable of driving both manual and automatic vehicles.
• Ability to maneuver vehicles in confined spaces.

Responsibilities

• Control movement and security of all vehicles on site to ensure customer safety.
• Ensure vehicles are delivered to the workshop when needed.
• Act as a customer ambassador, greeting visitors on arrival.
• Assist customers with parking when they arrive on site.
• Inspect vehicles for damage and tyre safety on receipt and before handover to customer.
• Complete damage reports per Ocean policy and communicate findings to customers where possible.
• Prepare and hand over documents with customers as required.
• Prepare courtesy vehicles to a high standard for customers.
• Deputise as Sales Progressor for BMW & MINI, including prepping cars for display, test drives and handovers.
• Manage showroom and forecourt displays and keep vehicles organized and secure.
• Photograph vehicles, record specs, upload stock to online platforms and social media.
• Coordinate vehicle movement between sites and liaise with valeting and service teams.
• Process delivery paperwork, warranty claims and update internal tracking systems.
• Collect and deliver vehicles from customers’ homes or premises.
• Chauffeur company personnel or customers as required.
• Collect/deliver small items as needed.

Job description

Your role

• To control the movement and security of all vehicles on site ensuring the safety of our customers at all times.
• Ensure that vehicles are delivered to the workshop when needed.
• Act as a customer ambassador, meeting and greeting our customers.
• Ensure that our customers are able to park when they arrive on site.
• Examine customer vehicles for damage and tyre safety on receipt of the vehicle and prior to handing back the vehicle to the customer.
• Ensure that damage reports are completed in accordance with Ocean policy and any damage pointed out to customers wherever possible.
• Complete any relevant documentation with the customer where necessary.
• Ensure courtesy vehicles are prepared to a high standard and ready for our customers.
• As required to deputise as the Sales Progressor for BMW & MINI, including:
  • Prep new and used cars for display, customer test drives, and final handovers.
  • Manage showroom and forecourt displays, keeping vehicles organized and secure.
  • Photograph vehicles, record accurate specs, and upload stock to online platforms and social media.
  • Coordinate vehicle movement between sites and manage relationships with the valeting and service teams.
  • Process delivery paperwork, warranty claims, and update internal tracking systems.

Other Duties

• Collection and delivery of vehicles from customers homes or work premises.
• Chauffeur company personnel and/or customers where required.
• Collect / deliver small items where required.

Critical Skills

• The ability to use technology such as IPads and Windows based software.
• Display an enthusiastic, motivated and committed approach to work
• Attend on site as required within department opening hours.
• A full driving licence (Max 6 penalty points & with no DR/CD/DD/TT99 endorsement codes)
• Have not been declined insurance within the last 5 years.
• The ability to drive manual and automatic vehicles.
• The ability to manoeuvre vehicles in confined spaces.

Additional Requirements

• Eligibility to work in the UK.
