Job summary

DHL Supply Chain is seeking a Class 2 Driver in Doncaster to deliver rail infrastructure products with HIAB support. The role involves daily vehicle checks, loading and securing loads, and maintaining high service standards on customer deliveries.

The position is permanent full-time, offering 48 hours per week, with occasional night shifts and a night out each week. Training is provided for HIAB tasks and safety compliance is a priority.

Qualifications

• Hold a valid Class 2 (Category C) driving licence with Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card.
• Ideally have at least 6 months recent Class 2 driving experience.
• HIAB experience or HIAB licence is beneficial; training provided.
• Demonstrate commitment to safety, compliance and delivering excellent customer service.
• Be flexible for day shifts and occasional night shifts (1–2 per month) and one night out weekly.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a Class 2 vehicle with HIAB to deliver rail infrastructure products.
• Carry out daily vehicle inspections and safety checks in line with regulations.
• Load, secure and transport goods following company procedures.
• Complete customer collections and deliveries efficiently, typically one each day.
• Perform manual handling tasks while adhering to safety requirements.

Pay Rate: £38, 507.31 (plus night out allowance)
Grade: RCS P
Contract Type: Permanent (Full-Time)

Location: Doncaster - DN3 3FF
Shift patterns:

48 hours per week, Monday - Friday Day Shift (around 6am start time).

Includes an average of one night out per week and 1-2 night shifts per month, depending on operational requirements.

Interviews and assessments will be undertaken on Friday 11th September

With a mix of driving, customer interaction, and specialist HIAB work (training provided), this is an excellent opportunity to join a professional and supportive team, playing a key role in delivering vital products that help keep the UK's rail network moving.

A TYPICAL DAY MAY INVOLVE

• Safely operate a Class 2 vehicle and vehicle-mounted crane (HIAB) to deliver rail infrastructure products, including sleepers and bagged ballast, to engineering sites
• Carry out daily vehicle inspections and safety checks, ensuring full compliance with Drivers' Hours, Working Time Directive regulations, and company health and safety standards
• Load, secure and transport products safely, including strapping and securing loads in line with company procedures and road transport regulations (full training provided)
• Complete customer collections and deliveries efficiently, typically undertaking one collection and one delivery per day while maintaining excellent service standards
• Undertake manual handling activities as required, ensuring safe movement of products and adherence to all site-specific safety requirements and The Highway Code

THIS ROLE WOULD SUIT PEOPLE WHO

• Hold a valid Class 2 (Category C) driving licence, Driver CPC qualification and Digital Tachograph Card
• Ideally have 6 months recent Class 2 driving experience
• HIAB experience and/or a HIAB licence would be beneficial, but full training can be provided for candidates who are keen to develop this skill
• Demonstrate a strong commitment to safety, compliance and delivering excellent customer service at all times
• Be flexible to meet operational requirements, including day shifts, occasional night shifts (typically 1-2 per month), and an average of one night out per week
