Job summary

DHL Supply Chain in Doncaster is seeking a Class 2 Driver to deliver rail infrastructure products with HIAB duties, in a permanent full-time role.

You will work a Monday–Friday day shift, with occasional night work; training provided for HIAB.

The role emphasizes safety, customer service, and reliability to keep the UK rail network moving.

Qualifications

• Hold a valid Class 2 driving licence, Driver CPC, and Digital Tachograph Card.
• Ideally have 6 months recent Class 2 driving experience.
• HIAB experience and/or HIAB licence would be beneficial, but full training can be provided.
• Demonstrate a strong commitment to safety, compliance and delivering excellent customer service at all times.
• Be flexible to meet operational requirements, including day shifts and occasional night shifts (typically 1-2 per month).

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a Class 2 vehicle and HIAB to deliver rail infrastructure products to engineering sites.
• Carry out daily vehicle inspections and safety checks.
• Load, secure and transport products, including proper strapping and load security.
• Complete customer collections and deliveries efficiently, typically one collection and one delivery per day.
• Undertake manual handling as required and adhere to safety requirements.

Job description

Pay Rate: £38, 507.31 (plus night out allowance)

Grade: RCS P

Contract Type: Permanent (Full-Time)

Location: Doncaster - DN3 3FF

Shift patterns: 48 hours per week, Monday - Friday Day Shift (around 6am start time). Includes an average of one night out per week and 1-2 night shifts per month, depending on operational requirements.

Interviews and assessments will be undertaken on Friday 11th September

A TYPICAL DAY MAY INVOLVE

• Safely operate a Class 2 vehicle and vehicle-mounted crane (HIAB) to deliver rail infrastructure products, including sleepers and bagged ballast, to engineering sites
• Carry out daily vehicle inspections and safety checks, ensuring full compliance with Drivers' Hours, Working Time Directive regulations, and company health and safety standards
• Load, secure and transport products safely, including strapping and securing loads in line with company procedures and road transport regulations (full training provided)
• Complete customer collections and deliveries efficiently, typically undertaking one collection and one delivery per day while maintaining excellent service standards
• Undertake manual handling activities as required, ensuring safe movement of products and adherence to all site-specific safety requirements and The Highway Code

• Ideally have 6 months recent Class 2 driving experience
• HIAB experience and/or a HIAB licence would be beneficial, but full training can be provided for candidates who are keen to develop this skill
• Demonstrate a strong commitment to safety, compliance and delivering excellent customer service at all times
