Job summary

DHL Supply Chain is seeking a Class 2 HGV Driver for the Hatfield site, operating within a prison environment. The role involves delivering canteen provisions, palletised goods, and routine manual handling as part of 45 hours per week, with security vetting required.

You will perform multiple daily drops, maintain vehicle standards, and work in accordance with road and safety regulations. Prior experience and a valid HGV2 license are essential.

Qualifications

• Hold a valid HGV Class 2 Driving Licence (C), Driver CPC Qualification and Digital Tachograph Card.
• Will have 12 months recent driving experience of HGV vehicle.
• Can provide three years of UK address history (mandatory for enhanced security clearance).
• Comfortable working in a prison environment, alongside inmates.
• Manual handling and heavy lifting may be required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver canteen supplies, ambient, chilled and frozen food into the prison services (palletised).
• Push and pull dollies up to 200kg.
• Typically 3–4 drops per day.
• Drive safely in line with Drivers' Hours and Working Time Directive regulations.
• Complete regular vehicle checks and adhere to health and safety standards.

Pay Rate: £39,028.14
Grade: RCS P
Contract Type: Permanent (Full-Time)
Shift patterns: Monday to Friday - 45 hours a week - 9 hour shifts
Location: Hatfield, AL10 9TR

We're now looking for a Class 2 HGV Driver toplay a key role ensuring our operations run smoothly and efficiently, delivering goods safely and on time.

A TYPICAL DAY MAY INVOLVE

• You will delivering canteen supplies, ambient, chilled and frozen food into the prison services which is palletised.
• Pushing and Pulling dollies up to 200kg
• There will be around 3 to 4 drops per day.
• depending on which route you are allocated.
• MANUAL HANDLING WILL BE REQUIRED.
• Driving in a safe and efficient manner in line with Drivers' Hours and Working Time Directive regulations
• Complying with our health and safety standards at all times, ensuring adherence to The Highway Code, road safety rules and vehicle regulations
• Regular completion of vehicle checks
• Manual handling of customer products
