Job summary

DHL Supply Chain is seeking an LGV Cat C Driver (HGV Class 2) based in Daventry. The role is full-time, permanent, with early starts and no weekend work. Salary is £37,281 per annum for a 48-hour week, with a comprehensive benefits package.

The driver will operate in a busy logistics environment, delivering goods safely and on time, performing vehicle checks, handling PODs, and maintaining excellent safety and compliance standards.

Qualifications

• Ideally have at least 6 months Class 2 driving experience
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Good physical fitness for manual handling and deliveries

Responsibilities

• Make 15–20 delivery drops per day as per route plans
• Carry out strong vehicle pre-checks and report defects
• Complete PODs and admin documentation to required standards
• Maintain clear communication with Transport team

We're now looking for a Class 2 Driver to play a key role ensuring our operations run smoothly and efficiently, delivering goods safely and on time.

A TYPICAL DAY MAY INVOLVE

• Work to a consistently high standard of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Operate all authorised equipment safely and correctly, in accordance with licensing and operational authorisation.
• Complete thorough daily vehicle checks and promptly report any defects.
• Report all personnel‑or equipment‑related accidents immediately to the Transport Office.
• Accurately complete all required administrative documentation, including Proof of Delivery (PODs), to required standards.
• Maintain regular and effective communication with the Transport team.
• Count and check all products against delivery manifests and complete visual inspections for damage.
• Adhere at all times to Safe Systems of Work (SSW) and defined quality standards.
• Ensure full compliance with company health and safety policies, including standards of vehicle operation and cleanliness.
• Report any product excesses, shortages, or damage to the supervisor in a timely manner.
• Drive safely and efficiently in line with Drivers' Hours regulations and the Working Time Directive.
• Complete an average of 15–20 delivery drops per day in line with route plans and schedules.
• Carry out regular manual handling of tyres; the role requires a good level of physical fitness.
