Job summary

Qualifications

  • Degree in Civil Engineering or closely related discipline.
  • Experience in flood risk, drainage and SuDS.
  • Familiarity with drainage design software such as MicroDrainage or InfoDrainage.
  • Basic knowledge of Flood Modeller, TUFLOW, or other hydrological or hydraulic modelling software.
  • Relevant placement, internship or university project experience in civil engineering, drainage, flood risk or water management.
  • Full UK driving license and right to work in the UK.
  • Live within a commutable distance to the Nottingham office.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with flood risk and drainage assessments.
  • Support the development of SuDS strategies.
  • Contribute to the design and assessment of drainage infrastructure.

Drainage Engineer

Are you a Drainage Engineer seeking out your next opportunity to develop your career within the flood risk, drainage, and water management industry? There is a perfect opening within a well-established infrastructure consultancy to join their team, working on a range of exciting development and infrastructure projects nationwide.

As a Drainage Engineer, you will be working alongside experienced engineers within the water management team, assisting with flood risk and drainage assessments, supporting the development of sustainable drainage (SuDS) strategies, and contributing to the design and assessment of drainage infrastructure. The role also includes preparing technical reports, calculations and supporting documentation, as well as developing SuDS management and maintenance plans. Communication skills are required to liaise with clients, local authorities, water companies and other project stakeholders, while work collaboratively with colleagues across water management, infrastructure design and transport planning.
