Job summary

Penguin Recruitment Ltd is seeking an Entry Level Drainage Engineer in Derby. This permanent role offers a starting salary of £27,500 per year and a clear path to develop in flood risk, drainage, and water management.

You will assist with flood risk assessments, SuDS strategies, and prepare technical reports while liaising with clients and authorities. A Civil Engineering degree and software familiarity are required, with flexible office/home working.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or closely related discipline.
• Familiarity with drainage design software such as MicroDrainage or InfoDrainage.
• Knowledge of hydrological or hydraulic modelling software such as Flood Modeller or TUFLOW.

The role of the Entry Level Drainage Engineer

The requirements for the Entry Level Drainage Engineer include a degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related discipline, along with familiarity with drainage design software such as MicroDrainage or InfoDrainage. Candidates should also have some knowledge of hydrological or hydraulic modelling software, such as Flood Modeller or TUFLOW, as well as relevant placement, internship or university project experience within civil engineering, drainage, flood risk or water management. A full UK driving licence, the full right to work in the UK, and the ability to commute to Derby are also required.
