Job summary

Search Consultancy is recruiting a Specialist Dozer Operator (Cat D6) with Trimble GPS for a major earthworks project in Middlesbrough. The role runs a structured 10-shift block following an initial site break, offering high-hour productivity and clean, continuous shift runs.

You will work directly with site engineers and earthworks supervisors to execute precise earth-moving and grading operations using 3D GPS control, ensuring compliance with digital design models.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid CPCS or NPORS card for Tracked Dozer (Above 10 Tonnes).
• Proven hands-on experience using Trimble 3D GPS in-cab machine control on heavy dozers.
• Civil earthworks background with bulk earthworks and site levelling.
• Available for a 10-shift block following the site break.
• Right to Work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• 3D GPS earthworks using Trimble GPS 3D control to meet digital design models.
• Operate Cat D6 or equivalent dozer across bulk muck shifts and earthworks.
• Achieve tight level and slope tolerances on large site formations.
• Calibrate GPS systems daily and verify line and level with surveyors.
• Conduct daily pre-start inspections and maintain the cab throughout the shift.

Search Consultancy is recruiting a high-caliber Dozer Operator (Cat D6 level) equipped with Trimble GPS systems for a major earthworks project in Middlesbrough. This position runs on a structured 10-shift block following an initial site break, making it ideal for experienced operators looking for high productivity and clean, continuous shift runs.

Your Role & Responsibilities

Working directly alongside site engineers and earthworks supervisors, you will be responsible for executing high-precision earth-moving and grading operations:

• 3D GPS Earthworks: Utilizing in-cab Trimble GPS 3D control systems to execute bulk earthworks, battering, trimming, and fine-grade levelling strictly to digital design models.

• Heavy Dozer Operation: Safely operating Cat D6 (or equivalent size) track dozers across bulk muck shifts, plateau formation, cut-and-fill operations, and material spreading.

• Level & Slope Accuracy: Achieving tight design tolerances on large-scale site formations, road sub-bases, and embankment batters without over-excavating.

• System Calibration: Conducting daily GPS system checks, ensuring base station signal connectivity, and working closely with site surveyors on line and level verification.

• Plant Care & Safety: Carrying out daily pre-start inspections, greasing, blade maintenance, and keeping the cab in top condition throughout the 10-shift run.

What We’re Looking For

To satisfy site entry regulations and high-spec earthworks requirements, applicants must possess:

• Plant Ticket: A valid CPCS or NPORS card for Tracked Dozer (Above 10 Tonnes) is strictly mandatory.

• GPS Expertise: Proven, hands-on experience using Trimble 3D GPS in-cab machine control systems on heavy dozers (Cat D6 or equivalent).

• Civil Earthworks Background: Strong track record in bulk earthworks, site levelling, and infrastructure projects.

• Shift Commitment: Full availability to complete the 10-shift block continuously following the site break.

• PPE & Transport: Standard 5-point PPE (hard hat, high-vis, steel toe boots, gloves, eye protection) and reliable transport to site in Middlesbrough.

• Right to Work: Valid proof of right to work in the UK.
