Job summary

Search Consultancy is recruiting a Telehandler Operator for an immediate, short-term contract on a live site in Morpeth, Northumberland. Competitive pay options of £17.83 per hour PAYE Direct or £20.92 per hour Umbrella, with a full-time 40+ hour week.

You must hold a CPCS (Blue or Red) or NPORS Telehandler card, have proven operator experience, a full UK driving licence, and be ready to start immediately. PPE and reliable transport to Morpeth are required.

Responsibilities

• Load, unload and distribute brick packs, timber, steel and site materials.

• Conduct daily pre-start checks and log equipment reports.
• Operate the telehandler within site rules and lifting plans.
• Assist site management with general labouring when needed.

Telehandler Operator for a short-term cover assignment on an active site in

Morpeth. Offering competitive pay options of

£20.92/hr Umbrella, this role is ideal for an operator looking to jump straight into immediate, well-paid work.

If you hold a valid CPCS or NPORS ticket, have strong telescopic handler experience, and are ready for an immediate start, we want to hear from you today.

Your Role & Responsibilities

Working closely with site management, sub-contractors, and ground gangs, your day-to-day duties will include:

• Material Handling & Distribution: Safely loading, unloading, shifting, and distributing brick packs, timber, steel, roof trusses, and site supplies around live work areas.
• Loading Scaffolding & Stocking Out: Offloading delivery wagons efficiently and stocking out scaffolding lifts and work bays safely.
• Vehicle & Site Inspection: Conducting daily pre-start maintenance checks on the machine (fluid levels, hydraulics, tires, safety devices) and logging reports.
• Safe Site Operation: Operating the machine in strict accordance with site speed limits, pedestrian segregation routes, and lifting plans.
• General Site Support: Willingness to step out of the cab to assist site management with general labouring or material clearing when machine operations are quiet.

Requirements & Qualifications

To satisfy site entry and plant operating standards, all applicants must possess:

• CPCS (Blue or Red) or NPORS Card with the Telehandler / Telescopic Handler category (strictly mandatory).
• Operating Experience: Proven track record operating telehandlers safely on busy commercial or residential construction sites.
• Availability: Immediately available for short-term cover.
• Medical / License: Full UK Driving License (required for site movements/road crossings where applicable).
• PPE: Standard 5-point PPE (hard hat, high-vis jacket/vest, safety boots, gloves, protective eyewear).
• Transport: Reliable transport to commute to the site in Morpeth daily.
• Right to Work: Valid proof of right to work in the UK.
