You must hold a CPCS or NPORS ticket for ADT, with proven ADT experience on earthworks or infrastructure. Daily commute to Darlington is expected.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Muck & Material Transport: Safely operating ADTs to haul earth, rock, and spoil across site routes.
• Loading & Tipping Operations: Positioning the ADT for loading under excavators and tipping materials into designated areas.
• Haul Road Navigation: Driving across uneven terrain while following site rules and speed limits.
• Plant Maintenance & Checks: Performing daily pre-start checks and reporting any issues.
• Site Safety Adherence: Maintaining awareness of ground crew and hazards at all times.

Search Consultancy is recruiting a skilled Articulated Dump Truck Driver for an active project in Darlington. Offering a competitive rate of 20.00 per hour (CIS), this role provides steady hours and long-term site continuity for a confident operator capable of moving high-volume muck safely and efficiently across challenging site terrain.

Your Role & Responsibilities

Working directly alongside excavator operators, dozer drivers, and earthworks supervisors, your day-to-day duties will include:

• Muck & Material Transport: Safely operating Articulated Dump Trucks (e.g., Volvo A25/A30/A40 series or Bell equivalents) to haul earth, rock, aggregate, and spoil across busy earthworks routes.

• Loading & Tipping Operations: Positioning the ADT correctly for loading under excavators and tipping materials safely into designated fill areas, stockpiles, or crushers.

• Haul Road Navigation: Driving safely across soft, uneven, or sloped site terrain while adhering strictly to site speed limits and haul road traffic rules.

• Plant Maintenance & Checks: Performing mandatory daily pre-start checks (oil, hydraulics, tyres, brakes), reporting any mechanical issues promptly, and keeping the cab clean.

• Site Safety Adherence: Maintaining high awareness of ground crew, plant movement, and site hazards at all times.

Requirements & Qualifications

To satisfy site access regulations and safety standards, all applicants must possess:

• Plant Ticket: A valid CPCS or NPORS card for Articulated Dump Truck (All Sizes) is strictly mandatory.

• Operator Experience: Proven track record operating ADTs on large-scale civil engineering, bulk earthworks, or groundworks developments.

• PPE & Transport: Standard 5-point PPE (hard hat, high-vis jacket/trousers, safety boots, gloves, protective eyewear) and reliable transport to commute to site in Darlington daily.

• Safety Mindset: Strong operational awareness, punctual habits, and commitment to safe working practices.

• Right to Work: Valid proof of right to work in the UK.
