Job summary

Muslim Hands is seeking a Donor Engagement and Retention Manager at our Head Office in Nottingham. This new role shapes the donor retention strategy from scratch and creates multi-channel journeys to onboard and nurture donors, with a focus on re-engagement of lapsed donors.

You will interpret audience insights, collaborate with cross‑functional teams, and deliver donor-first communications while managing retention budgets and reporting on KPIs to senior leadership.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years+ experience in a fundraising team with knowledge of UK fundraising regulations.
• Strong analytical skills and understanding of retention metrics.
• Strategic thinker with clear and confident communication.
• Self-starter - able to shape a new role to fit the organisation.

Responsibilities

• Develop a retention strategy for donor base across one-off, regular, major and lapsed donors.
• Own retention budget and monitor spend.
• Create multi-channel journeys (email, SMS, WhatsApp, app, web, social, telephony).
• Collaborate with back‑office teams to implement journeys and optimise performance.
• Monitor retention KPIs and provide monthly senior leadership reports.
