Job summary

Gilmartins is seeking an experienced Domestic Floor Layer (vinyl) to perform flat lay, cap & cove, and patch repairs with carpentry skills. You will operate across social housing sites in South London and travel between areas including Bexley, Bromley, Croydon, Greenwich, Lambeth, Lewisham, Southwark and Sutton.

Regular hours are 8am–5pm, with on-call duties once every four weeks. The role requires a full manual driving licence, own tools, and a DBS certificate.

Qualifications

• Experience of working in social housing.
• DBS certificate.
• Full manual driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Lay vinyl flooring (flat lay) including cap & cove and patch repairs.
• Travel across South London sites as required (Bexley, Bromley, Croydon, Greenwich, Lambeth, Lewisham, Southwark, Sutton).
• Work 8:00–17:00, with on-call duties roughly every 4 weeks.

We are recruiting an experienced Domestic Floor Layer (vinyl) flat lay, cap & cove, patch repairs ideally with Carpentry skills.

Gilmartins work in social housing and provide reactive repairs for local authorities and housing associations.

The job requires work and travel in South London including areas Bexley, Bromley, Croydon, Greenwich, Lambeth, Lewisham, Southwark and Sutton. (travelling will be required)

Gilmartins is a family owned and run business; our staff are valued and our ethos is to promote from within. Our Board of Directors mostly started on the tools themselves so have a ‘hands‑on’ understanding of the work we do.

Requirements for Job:

• Full manual driving licence –not automatic licence
• Own tools

Hours of work are 8am - 5pm Monday to Friday with call-outs as required once every 4 weeks. On call from Monday to Sunday, 5pm to 1am (£35-£50 per call out)
