Job summary

Todd Hayes Ltd is seeking a Distribution Controller to support the Distribution Manager in planning and coordinating shipments worldwide. Based in Eye, Suffolk, this full-time role focuses on cost-effective transport and efficient despatch processes.

You will liaise with customers and internal teams, prepare documentation and quotes, and ensure accurate data updates in the company systems. A proactive, detail-oriented approach is essential.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide advice to Sales on transport principals and obtain quotes.
• Coordinate with Packing to ensure efficient packing for shipments.
• Liaise with customers and internal departments regarding despatch and documentation.
• Update business systems with action and status.
• Support Distribution Manager and cover for team members as needed.
• Plan and arrange shipments for cost-effective delivery.

Distribution Controller

Our client, a market leader in the design, development, manufacture, and supply of Stainless-Steel containment storage solutions is currently seeking a Sales Estimator to join their team.

This is a full-time permanent position based in Eye, Suffolk, working Monday to Friday, 9:00 - 17:00.

Role Purpose

To support the Distribution Manager in effecting the distribution of products to our clients Distributors locations worldwide.

Skills, Knowledge & Experience

• Proven work experience gained within a logistics role.
• A positive approach combined with efficient communication skills.
• An in-depth understanding of the role of a Logistics Coordinator/Controller.
• Computer proficient skills including MS Office Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Microsoft TEAMS.
• The ability to work under pressure and to deadlines.
• Good administrative skills and a very high attention to detail.
• An excellent work ethic with the ability to mentor and influence the behaviour of others.
• A Levels or equivalent work experience gained within a Logistics environment.
• A second language would be an advantage, but not essential.

General Responsibilities

• To provide advice to the Sales Department on the best transport principals and obtain quotes.
• To work closely with the Packing Department to ensure the most efficient and appropriate packing methods are used relative to the type of shipment.
• To liaise with customers and other internal departments regarding despatch of customer orders, and to provide the necessary information and documentation as required.
• To liaise with all other departments that may require a shipping and despatch service.
• The accurate and timely update of business systems to reflect action taken and current status.
• To carry out any other duties that may reasonably be requested giving due regard to your role.
• To provide necessary support to the Distribution Manager, and to complete administrative and functional tasks as required.
• To provide cover along with other members of the Distribution team for the Distribution Manager and the other team members in their absence.

Duties and Key Responsibilities

• To undertake the tasks necessary to support the Company’s transport and distribution processes, ensuring the efficient delivery of product to customers.
• To plan and arrange shipments to achieve the most cost-effective result considering customer delivery requirements.
• To prepare appropriate documentation to allow shipments to take place while adhering to all appropriate regulations.
• To support in the task to create and sustain a zero-harm environment.
