Dispensing Optician Manager – Independent Opticians (High Wycombe Area)

Overview

A long‑standing independent practice in the High Wycombe area are looking for a dedicated Dispensing Optician Manager to join their close‑knit team. This practice has been serving the community for 35‑40 years and is well‑known for its warm, personal approach to patient care. With a recent retirement and an upcoming maternity leave, they’re now seeking a confident, experienced DO who can take the lead on dispensing and support the smooth running of the practice.

About the Practice
  • Established for almost four decades, with a loyal patient base
  • The resident Optometrist, has been with the practice for around 15 years
  • Long‑term locum DO support, including one who has been with the practice for 25 years
  • 1 test room, typically 4‑5 staff present daily
  • Working hours: 5‑days per week, inclusive of Saturdays – Mon‑Sat 9:00‑17:30
Your Role

As the Dispensing Optician Manager, you will:

  • Lead dispensing activities and ensure every patient receives friendly, professional service
  • Oversee day‑to‑day operations on the shop floor
  • Work closely with the Optometrist and wider team to maintain the practice’s high standards
  • Support junior staff and receptionists with guidance, training and problem‑solving
  • Help with stock management, frame styling and lens recommendations
  • Contribute to the practice’s continued growth and smooth workflow
