Job summary

Civic Recruitment Limited is seeking a Disabled Facilities Grant Technical Officer on a 1-month contract with a local authority in Bracknell. The role supports delivery of DFGs and home adaptations for disabled residents, coordinating across internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely, customer-focused service outcomes.

Experience with DFGs, housing adaptations, and working with occupational therapists, surveyors, and contractors is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience administering and processing complex cases.

• Experience in housing, health, social care, or local authority environments.
• Experience working with occupational therapists, surveyors, contractors, or technical teams.
• Knowledge of DFGs and home adaptations.

Responsibilities

• Manage Disabled Facilities Grant applications from referral to completion.
• Coordinate with residents, occupational therapists, contractors, and surveyors.
• Conduct feasibility visits, inspections and checks of adaptation works.
• Analyse quotations to identify best value solutions.
• Prepare specifications, schedules of works, and related documentation.
• Process invoices, verify final accounts, and assist budget monitoring.
• Maintain accurate case records and MIS databases.
• Respond to enquiries and service requests in a timely manner.
