Job summary

Everpool Recruitment is seeking Disability Assessors in Chatham for hybrid roles across the south of England. You will conduct WCA assessments for the DWP, producing comprehensive reports while not making benefit entitlement decisions.

The position offers a mix of home and office work with a standard Mon-Fri schedule and no weekend shifts. Requirements include registration as a nurse, occupational therapist, or physiotherapist with relevant post-registration experience and strong written/verbal

Responsibilities

• Conduct telephone, video, or face-to-face assessments of claimants.
• Perform thorough evaluations to determine how a claimant's disability or health condition affects their ability to undertake work-related tasks.
• Assess individuals with a range of physical, mental health, cognitive, and sensory impairments.
• Produce impartial, accurate, and high-quality written reports using a designated IT system.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant policies, procedures, and assessment criteria.
• Adhere to all professional standards, including Safeguarding, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, Data Protection, and Risk Management.

Role Summary:

The Disability Assessor conducts Work Capability Assessments (WCA) on people with long-term health issues. The role requires producing comprehensive, evidence-based reports for the Department of Work and Pensions (DWP). The assessor is not responsible for benefit entitlement decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct telephone, video, or face-to-face assessments of claimants.
• Perform thorough evaluations to determine how a claimant's disability or health condition affects their ability to undertake work-related tasks.

Essential Criteria:

• Registered healthcare professional - Registered Nurse, Physiotherapist, Occupational Therapist (NMC/HCPC registration required).
• Minimum of one years' relevant post-registration clinical experience.
• Strong written and verbal clinical communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage a clinical caseload efficiently.
• Experience working with complex health conditions
