Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen to be the directorate pharmacist for Neurosciences at Oxford University Hospitals. You will have the opportunity to lead a pharmacy team providing clinical services to the tertiary Neurosciences service, including neurology, neurosurgery, and neuro intensive care unit.
This is a fixed-term opportunity for one year (end date to be confirmed) to work as part of a job share (hours/week) with the current post holder. You will play a pivotal role in leading the pharmacy team to achieve targets related to safety, operational efficiency, financial management, and productivity improvements, supported closely by the Divisional Pharmacist. You will facilitate and support the learning and development needs of the local pharmacy team, including appraisal, diploma tutoring, and pre-registration pharmacist training. It would be highly advantageous if you are an independent prescriber to support the wider multidisciplinary team, and you will have the freedom to identify an area to maximize your skills to support the service.
Across neurosciences, the current challenges involve rapid service expansion due to increased medicines use in Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis, and headache. This role requires balancing inpatient and outpatient pharmacy services.
Main duties of the job

Our department is forward-thinking, implementing new ways of working to deliver significant improvements in patient care and financial performance.
