An exciting opportunity has arisen to be the directorate pharmacist for Neurosciences at Oxford University Hospitals. You will lead a pharmacy team providing clinical services to the tertiary Neurosciences service, including neurology, neurosurgery, and neuro intensive care unit.
This is a 1-year (end date 31/3/26) fixed-term role, part of a job share (15 hours/week) with the current post holder. You will play a pivotal role in leading the pharmacy team to achieve safety, operational, financial, and productivity targets, supported closely by the Divisional Pharmacist. You will facilitate and support the learning and development needs of the local pharmacy team, including appraisal, diploma tutoring, and pre-registration pharmacist training. It is highly advantageous if you are an independent prescriber to support the wider multidisciplinary team and will have the freedom to identify an area to maximize your skills to support the service.
The current challenges in neurosciences include rapid service expansion due to growth in medicines for Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis, and headache. This role requires balancing inpatient and outpatient pharmacy services.
We seek a highly motivated, confident, and enthusiastic pharmacist with proven hospital pharmacy practice skills. The candidate should demonstrate creativity, initiative, and a strong commitment to improving patient outcomes and experience. Previous experience in a surgical setting is desirable but not essential.
