Job Description

The Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise seeks a motivated and dynamic Director of Sales and Marketing with proven leadership, creativity, and a strong work ethic. Responsibilities include leading Sales, Revenue, Conference Services, Marketing, and PR, collaborating across departments to maximize sales and brand awareness. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the Transient segment, experience in digital marketing, and the ability to support and lead sales teams across regional resorts including Banff Springs, Rimrock, Jasper Park Lodge, and Whistler. Collaboration with corporate and destination partners is essential.

Summary of Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily activities and strategic development of Sales, Conference Services, and Marketing teams.
  • Work with regional leaders to optimize performance across properties.
  • Implement regional and hotel initiatives to drive performance in all market segments.
  • Communicate effectively regarding sales & marketing strategies, performance, and best practices.
  • Lead the integration and promotion of the resort’s new wellness facilities and lifestyle proposition.
  • Develop strategies to grow transient business, including content creation and marketing campaigns.
  • Manage sales quotas, revenue management, and digital marketing efforts.
  • Lead Public Relations and community engagement initiatives.
  • Build partnerships with local organizations and manage market analysis and reporting.
  • Control sales & marketing expenses and participate in executive meetings.
  • Hire, coach, and develop sales and marketing staff.
  • Support talent acquisition and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Participate in travel and other duties as required.
Qualifications
  • Minimum five years of luxury hotel sales experience, with previous DOSM role required.
  • Experience in resort settings is advantageous.
  • Strong knowledge of advertising, promotion, and digital marketing.
  • Exceptional communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree or Hotel Management degree preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Opera, and S&C/SFA; basic hotel accounting knowledge required.
  • Willingness to travel and work flexible hours.
