Job Title:Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) (Unpaid, Volunteer)

Location:Remote

Duration:20 weeks (with potential extension or transition to a paid, official position + ESOP)

Overview:

Paramount Students, a fast-growing global edtech platform, is seeking a strategic and entrepreneurialChief Commercial Officer (CCO)to join our executive team on a volunteer basis. As the CCO, you will lead all commercial initiatives, including partnerships with universities, high schools, and student service providers, while building monetization strategies that fuel growth across multiple education sectors. This is a rare opportunity to contribute to a purpose-driven startup that’s redefining global student mobility and enrollment systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute robust commercial strategies focused on revenue generation, high school/university onboarding, and global student acquisition.
  • Align revenue goals with the platform's long-term vision to build the largest verified student marketplace.

Strategic Partnerships:

  • Lead the formation of partnerships with universities, high school associations, student accommodation providers, and global education agents.
  • Negotiate commercial terms and co-branding agreements with key partners.

Revenue Growth:

  • Drive monetization through our CRM for schools and universities, application bundles, education tourism services, and sponsored promotions.
  • Build scalable revenue streams that align with enrollment numbers and application growth.

Market Expansion:

  • Identify high-potential geographies and lead expansion efforts, particularly in Southeast Asia, MENA, and North America.
  • Cultivate commercial opportunities with embassies, scholarship organizations, and student networks.

Sales & Business Development Leadership:

  • Build and lead a global business development team focused on onboarding institutions and partners.
  • Set sales targets and define KPIs across verticals (UPP, CRM, Education Tourism, etc.).

Stakeholder Management:

  • Serve as a primary liaison to commercial stakeholders including investors, educational networks, and government partners.

Pricing & Bundling Strategy:

  • Design pricing models for student services and institutional subscriptions that maximize adoption and lifetime value.
  • Oversee development of bundled offerings (e.g., applications, accommodation, visa support).

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Work closely with product, marketing, and tech teams to align commercial goals with platform features and campaigns.
  • Collaborate with the CEO and founding team on investor presentations and growth milestones.

Performance Analysis:

  • Define and monitor performance metrics to evaluate commercial initiatives and iterate quickly.

Qualifications:

  • Experience:Proven experience in commercial leadership within edtech, SaaS, or global education ecosystems.
  • Strategic Vision:Strong ability to design and execute commercial strategies in fast-growth environments.
  • Global Partnerships:Demonstrated success building and scaling partnerships across international markets.
  • Revenue-Driven:Deep understanding of monetization in multi-stakeholder platforms.
  • Leadership:Exceptional team leadership, mentoring, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Communication:Outstanding verbal and written communication skills; confident representing the company externally.
  • Adaptability:Comfortable navigating ambiguity and startup pace; proactive and resourceful in solving complex challenges.
  • Mission-Driven:Passion for transforming student experiences, higher education, and cross-border access to opportunity.

Compensation:

This position is unpaid at this stage. However, it includes the opportunity to receiveequity through Paramount Students’ ESOPand to transition into a paid leadership role upon successful fundraising.
