Job summary

University Hospitals Dorset is seeking an Associate Director of Patient Engagement and Experience to shape trust strategy through patient voices, carers and communities. You will lead complaints, PALS and insight programs, aligning them with national quality goals and measurable improvement projects.

The role requires senior leadership in patient experience, advocacy and co-design, delivering strategic objectives and ensuring inclusive engagement across modules including translation,

Qualifications

• Educated to Master’s level or equivalent experience.
• Management/leadership qualification or equivalent experience at post graduate level.
• Evidence of continued professional development.
• Registered nurse or other registered professional; or demonstrable senior knowledge in patient experience, governance, complaints or service improvement.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and implementation of the Trust strategy for patient engagement and experience.
• Provide senior leadership for patient complaints, PALS, surveys, involvement and co-design.
• Translate national and Trust priorities into policies, standards and measurable improvements.
• Lead on and ensure patient voices influence strategy, governance and service design.
• Provide executive assurance, chair improvement groups, and integrate patient experience with safety and regulatory assurance.
• Oversee cross-site teams including volunteers, chaplaincy and translation/interpreting services.
