Job summary

Mastercard seeks a Director of Account Management for the UK & Ireland to accelerate B2B acceptance growth, helping suppliers, acquirers and ecosystems maximise commercial card adoption. You will work with regional and global teams to translate strategy into measurable volume and market outcomes.

The role requires deep knowledge of commercial payments, supplier economics and working capital, plus strong leadership, stakeholder and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Qualifications

• 8+ years’ experience in payments, acquiring, commercial cards, banking, fintech, business development and/or related industries.
• Experience working with acquirers, issuers, payment providers, banks and large corporate organisations.
• Proven track record of delivering commercial growth, developing partnerships and managing complex stakeholder environments.
• Direct experience engaging suppliers and supporting supplier acquisition, activation or growth initiatives.
• Experience operating within finance, treasury, receivables, working capital, procurement or invoice-driven business environments is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Accelerate adoption of Mastercard’s B2B acceptance capabilities, including MRM, CDP and future acceptance solutions.
• Identify new payment flows, market opportunities and industry segments where Mastercard can drive acceptance growth.
• Support acquirers in developing, launching and scaling their B2B acceptance propositions.
• Build and maintain a pipeline of B2B acceptance opportunities, converting Mastercard’s strategy into measurable volume growth and market outcomes.
• Develop repeatable growth models that can be scaled across multiple partners and industries.
• Lead supplier engagement and activation efforts across UK&I, building relationships with strategic suppliers, finance leaders and key decision-makers.
• Work alongside acquirers to identify and engage suppliers with significant acceptance and volume potential.
• Understand supplier economics, payment behaviours and working capital priorities to shape compelling value propositions.
• Position commercial card acceptance as part of a broader finance and liquidity strategy alongside solutions such as invoice finance, supply chain finance and other working capital tools.
• Develop relationships across acquirers, issuers, fintechs, ERP providers, platforms and strategic partners to unlock growth opportunities.
• Work closely with regional and global teams to bring proven capabilities, partnerships and ideas into UK&I.
• Develop industry-specific sales plays, value propositions and commercial growth strategies.
• Support the commercialisation of Mastercard acceptance capabilities through partner go-to-market activity and customer engagement.
• Support market education, thought leadership and partner enablement initiatives.
• Represent Mastercard internally and externally as a subject matter expert on B2B acceptance and commercial payments.
• Work cross-functionally across Product, Sales, Services, Marketing and Customer Delivery teams to accelerate execution and market growth.
