Job summary

WSP is seeking a Digital Engineer to join the Roads team across UK locations including London, Cambridge, Basingstoke, Guildford or Southampton. The role offers hybrid working with two days remote and is shaped to candidate capability and experience.

You will work with multidisciplinary teams to deliver highway and infrastructure solutions, applying AI-assisted data analysis and scripting to improve design efficiency and data reliability.

Qualifications

• Understanding of highway engineering principles preferred.
• Knowledge of standards like DMRB/Manual for Streets preferred.
• Experience handling data in Excel or similar systems.
• Strong communication skills with clients, developers, and public.

Responsibilities

• Work in multi-disciplinary teams to deliver highway/infrastructure solutions.
• Deliver engineering outputs for projects and work packages of varying scale and stage.
• Apply digital automation and data-driven design to improve delivery.
• Improve design efficiency, coordination, quality and carbon performance with digital tools.
• Reduce repetitive manual effort via scripting and data pipelines.
• Collaborate with Delivery teams, supporting carbon measurement initiatives.
• Develop and maintain reusable digital tools, scripts, templates and docs.
• Create data-driven workflows using Azure, Power Platform, and Python.
• Support digital delivery within BIM and CDE environments with ISO 19650 alignment.
• Contribute to health & safety compliance and QA processes.
