The Role: Digital Product Owner - 12 month Fixed Term Contract

The Product Owner (PO) identifies and prioritises delivery of improvements to customer experience and service

that support the achievement of the strategic goals of their workstream or business area. These improvements

may arise from new initiatives and/or improvements to existing products.

By articulating a clear business problem to be solved, including any direct or indirect impact on the end

customer, and by following a robust design process , the PO prioritises features based on their business value,

using baselined measures/success criteria that can be tracked throughout the lifecycle of the product.

It’s the PO’s responsibility to deliver early value to the business and its customers through regular incremental

releases of workable product. By monitoring the impact of each release on the agreed success criteria, the PO

decides the direction and duration of any further development of the product, not being afraid to fail fast when

that’s the right thing to do.

The PO works closely with stakeholders across the business to build and communicate their vision and priorities,

and share progress against their roadmap.

Responsibilities

· Build business cases for new features and conduct impact analysis as requirements emerge

· Maintain a prioritized backlog of features and product defects based on business value

· Collaborate with the Agile Feature Team to clarify requirements, make timely decisions on execution

details, and push for increasingly impressive results

· Work with other Product Owners to ensure dependencies are prioritized appropriately across teams

· Inspect completed work against requirements, customer need and business needs

· Quantify the success of products implemented, using pre-defined measures & success criteria

· Ensure that maximum business value is delivered as early as possible

· Understand business plans and KPI definition

· Maintain a detailed roadmap spanning a rolling 6 month period (current & next quarter)

· Represent the voice of the customer, the business and stakeholders to the team on a day-to-day basis

· Support the Senior Product Owner in engagement of all stakeholders to set a competitive product

vision and roadmap

· Bring the voice of the customer into the design and prioritization of new initiatives, experiences and

features, whether the impact on the end customer is direct or indirect

· Mentor more junior Product Managers to improve agile approaches and develop a stronger team

· Challenge assumptions and direction from business stakeholders when their needs are not technically achievable · Research and understand market requirements and trends · Lead and champion digital product strategy and roadmap in collaboration with key internal & external partner

· Attention to detail

· Comfortable with ambiguity

· Problem-solving

· Data analysis
