Job summary

Devon County Council is seeking a Website & Digital Content Officer to manage daily website development, content and digital projects. You will collaborate with PR/Marketing to plan, create and deliver engaging digital content across websites and platforms, including WordPress, SharePoint and Microsoft 365.

You will plan content for campaigns, produce photography/video, edit content for accessibility and SEO, and support the intranet.

Qualifications

• Experience managing and developing websites, ideally using WordPress and Elementor.
• Excellent written English with strong copywriting, editing and proofreading skills.
• Ability to create engaging stories using words, photography and video.
• Adapt tone and messaging for different audiences and platforms.
• Strong visual sense and understanding of layout to support written content.
• Experience creating digital content, including photography and video.
• Experience with image/video editing software (Photoshop, Premiere Pro).
• Knowledge of website content, user experience and digital audiences.
• Ability to plan and manage digital projects from idea to publication.
• Working knowledge of HTML and CSS.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and develop the Trust's websites day-to-day.
• Create and update pages, landing pages, news and events.
• Work with WordPress/Elementor to deliver engaging digital experiences.
• Improve website structure, navigation, content and user experience.
• Plan and develop new website sections and digital projects.
• Ensure content is accurate, accessible and aligned with brand.
• Support the development of the national English Hub website.
• Manage staff and student intranet using SharePoint and Microsoft 365.
• Use HTML/CSS, and JavaScript where appropriate, to enhance layouts.
• Support accessibility and SEO initiatives.
