A healthcare organization in Wales is seeking a Digital Clinical Specialist to implement an ePMA system within their multidisciplinary team. The role involves utilizing nursing experience to design innovative workflows and providing clinical support and training. Knowledge of NHS digital systems and active NMC registration are required. The position is part-time, fixed-term for 12 months, with a salary range of £39,263 to £47,280 per annum pro rata. Flexibility in working patterns is offered.
Velindre University NHS Trust (VUNHST) is implementing an electronic prescribing and medicines administration (ePMA) system across all care settings. The Digital Clinical Specialist (ePMA) will have a key role within the multi‑disciplinary team responsible for the successful delivery of the VUNHST ePMA solution to assure the safe, clinical and cost‑effective use of medicines.

Secondment for 12 months. To apply for the secondment, line‑manager permission is required. Alternatively, a fixed‑term contract may be considered.
The post holder will: use extensive nursing experience and knowledge of medicines management and existing medicines administration processes to contribute to the design of new ways of working associated with ePMA.
Use specialist knowledge and digital skills to provide clinical advice to the Programme team and support the development, testing, training and implementation of the digital system across all Trust sites.
Assist the Chief Nursing Information Officer (ePMA) and the Senior Nurse for Digital (ePMA) by informing and contributing to the implementation, training and delivery plans for the system, including delivering training sessions to the nursing workforce and the wider multidisciplinary team.
A large part of the role will involve being highly visible in the clinical areas, promoting the ePMA digital transformation and acting as a link for communication and engagement between the digital Programme and the clinical settings. This will include supporting the nursing workforce to transition from current paper‑based processes to the new digital solution.
Organise own workload to deliver the delegated programme aims, with support from the Chief Nursing Information Officer (ePMA) and the Senior Nurse for Digital (ePMA).
English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply. Welsh language skills are desirable.
